Do you know Him? Do you know Jesus? At Mount Hermon Baptist Church, our motto is “To Know Him and To Make Him Known”. Our biggest desire is that you know Jesus Christ as your own personal Savior. How can you know Him? It’s as simple as … A … B … C …
A,B,C’s of Salvation
So often we try to make salvation something very complex, but God never intended it to be that way. Salvation is really quite simple.
A – Admit. Admit that you are a sinner and in need of salvation from sin.
Romans 3:10 “As it is written: There is no one righteous, not even one;”
Romans 3:23 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”
Romans 6:23a “For the wages of sin is death,”
B – Believe. Believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that He is the only way to obtain salvation — to get to heaven.
John 14:6 “Jesus answered, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
Romans 10:9-10 “That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.”
C – Confess. Confess your sin. This means to admit your sin.
I John 1:9″If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
C – Confess. Confess Jesus.
Romans 10:9-10″That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.”
C – Commit. Commit your life to God. This involves receiving Jesus as your Savior and Lord, and surrendering the control of your life to Him.
John 1:12″Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God –”
To receive Jesus, to obtain salvation, simply pray something like this . . .
Dear God, I know that I am a sinner. I’m sorry for my sin. Take my sin away. Forgive me of my sin. Thank you for forgiving me. Jesus, come into my heart and life. Thank you for coming in. I give my life to you. Thank you for saving me. Amen.
If you prayed this prayer to ask forgiveness of sin and to receive Jesus as your Savior, please let us know. We’d love to help you make Him know.
